1980 ~ 1989 西洋老歌精選，也是連結老爺爺寫的『西洋老歌198X』之懶人包。如果80年代只能選出一首歌的話，我會選1983年終冠軍曲『Every Breath You Take』

高中時期開始接觸西洋歌曲，每天晚上有警廣的青春之歌(余光)，每個禮拜ICRT 有Billboard排行榜。MTV剛剛開始出現，有的歌還沒有MTV可播 余光就拿著黑膠唱片歌手的頭像在螢幕上晃啊晃的.....

80年代的時空背景 : 

1980年代相當於民國70年代，亞洲經濟快速發展蓬勃發展，台灣解除戒嚴、中國發生六四天安門事件，歐美雖然還在冷戰時代，卻開始解凍，直至1989年柏林圍牆倒塌。 

娛樂文化上，1983年流行樂之王麥克傑克森的《顫慄》發行，成為全球最暢銷的專輯，長達14分鐘的影像在MTV音樂電視台播放，讓音樂錄影帶成為流行音樂的一部分。商用CD開始出現，逐漸取代卡式錄音帶，任天堂的紅白機開始發售，娛樂選項越趨豐富多元。
